Board Members

> Appointments to the N.C. Interpreter and Transliterator Licensing Board

The Interpreter and Transliterator Licensure Act specifies that the Licensing Board shall consist of nine members, who shall serve staggered three-year terms.

In order to stagger the appointments, some board members were appointed to initial terms of two, rather than three, years. Upon the expiration of the terms of the initial Board members, each member thereafter shall be appointed for a term of three years. No member may serve more than two consecutive full terms.

All members of the Board who are required to be licensed under this Chapter must reside or be employed in North Carolina and must remain in active practice and in good standing with the Board as a licensee during their terms. N.C. Gen. Stat. § 90D-5.
